Lagos state GIS by Asseco

Asseco Software Nigeria Limited was contracted by Lagos State Government through the Ministry of Science and Technology, to deliver two Tiguar S-410 Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, as part of the Lagos Enterprise Geographic Information Systems, e-GIS, Upgrade and Integrated Land Administration and Automation System Project, “Lagos eGIS Project”. These UAVs will be used to capture and update the orthophoto of the entire land mass of Lagos State.

Asseco Software Nigeria Limited was contracted by Lagos State Government through the Ministry of Science and Technology, to deliver two Tiguar S-410 Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, as part of the Lagos Enterprise Geographic Information Systems, e-GIS, Upgrade and Integrated Land Administration and Automation System Project, “Lagos eGIS Project”. These UAVs will be used to capture and update the orthophoto of the entire land mass of Lagos State.

As part of Asseco’s delivery of the UAVs, six UAV operators from Lagos State Ministry of Science and Technology were trained and certified in Poland, to fly and maintain the UAVs in Lagos. A simulation environment has also been deployed by Asseco in the Ministry of Science and Technology. This will enable the operators to keep up with the operators’ training in a virtual environment.

The UAVs were delivered to Lagos State Government in April 2019 and launched in November 2019. During the launching, the Governor of Lagos State Mr Babatunde Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Lagos State Honorable Commissioner of Science and Technology, Mr Hakeem Fahm, expressed appreciation for the professionalism and performance so far.

“Beyond the strategic collaboration between Lagos State Ministry of Science and Technology and Asseco Software Nigeria Ltd, this Project is a practical example of localization of technology and knowledge transfer from Europe to Nigeria”, he said.

The project is handled in full cooperation with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and the Office of the National Security Adviser to ensure adherence to all applicable safety and control procedures.
