Within the frame of its partnership agreement with Asseco Data Systems (ADS) signed in January 2022 for the provision of IT services to the Asseco Group, Asseco Software Nigeria (ASN) will be receiving some advanced software development and technology implementation trainings from ADS over the course of 2024.

ASN is a leading Nigerian software company, incorporated in 2014 and providing local software customization, implementation, development and support in several sectors including Financial Services, Enterprise as well as Public Administration. The company has also developed a significant track record in the field of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) services as well as Cybersecurity & Trust Services. On its part, ADS is a large subsidiary of the Asseco Group, based in Poland and specializing in Trust Services, as one of the largest European digital certificates and electronic signatures provider. ADS has also a very strong offering in education and e-learning through its Asseco Academy, as well as a recognized specialization in software development for central and local government, including smart city solutions.

The partnership between ASN and ADS aims at providing qualified Nigerian software developers to join ADS’ software development projects. For the purpose of hiring, training and retaining such skilled professionals, the companies have designed jointly a specific and customized training program.

The program is open to Nigerian IT undergraduates at the end of their studies, as well as Asseco Nigeria’s junior technical staff, who will be trained on software development lifecycle, the C4 software architectural model, business & system analysis. The training is highly practical and from the onset, the Nigerian trainees will join ADS’ software development streams. The trainees are also offered internship and employment positions within ASN, at the end of the training cycle.

"ADS is a global leader in Trust Services, CERTUM, SimplySign and Signer are recognized brands and for us to join in the development lifecycle of these products is a great learning opportunity. I am sure that through this program, our trainees will learn global best practices in terms of software development and become even more valuable stakeholders in our national and regional digital journey” - Simon Melchior, CEO of Asseco Nigeria.

On his part, Marcin Szulga, Director Trust Services R&D Department at Asseco Data Systems highlighted that “for us, what is interesting is to have qualified non-Polish software developers to join our development teams so that our products are designed from the beginning for the global market, so that our dev teams speak English among themselves and thing big, think outside of their box, from the onset. We are very excited to partner with Asseco Nigeria on this project, they are a business partner that we have known for years and thanks to them, we know that Nigeria doesn’t only have good musicians and good football players, but also good software developers!”.
